African-American Actors Shine
Everyone is sitting in the theater munching on buttered popcorn and other goodies, as they wait for the feature film to begin. There’s curiosity, there’s anticipation, there’s excitement. Suddenly, the lights go out and everyone gets quiet. The previews begin and it’s just a matter of minutes before the feature film starts.

This scene is played out in movie theaters across the country every year. And this year has been no different. There has been a stellar number of feature films released this year that have been designed to make us laugh, make us cry, get out adrenaline pumping, and touch our hearts. From “Why Did I Get Married” to “Things We Lost in the Fire” to “American Gangster,” African American actors have had a starring role in our lives.

Although there has been a great number of films released this year, many more are on the way! Check out these upcoming films to be released this year, starring some of our favorite African American actors. Let’s have our popcorn handy and get ready to watch them shine!
