Inspired by tragedies among his own friends and family and outraged at the AIDS epidemic among African-American women in the United States, award-winning director Bill Duke (The Killing Floor) tackles and confronts subject matter that has been traditionally kept on the ‘down-low’ in this gripping tale of lies, betrayal, infidelity… and redemption. Its strong starring cast including Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill Vol. 1, Two Can Play That Game), Aunjanue Ellis (Ray, Undercover Brother), Raz Adoti (Haven) and Paula Jai Parker (Idlewild, Hustle & Flow), recounts the events leading up to a passionate murder that leaves a devoted wife and mother as the primary suspect. Cover also features performances from Academy Award-winner Louis Gossett Jr. (An Officer and a Gentleman), Leon (The Temptations, “Oz”), singer-actresses Patti LaBelle (Idlewild, Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy) and Mya (Chicago, Cursed). Synopsis

Valerie Maas is a devoted, churchgoing wife and mother whose faith is shattered when she discovers that her husband Dutch (Raz Adoti, Haven) is living a secret double life. And when she’s subsequently arrested for the murder of a famous singer – who, it turns out, has a big secret of his own – Valerie is as shocked as anyone; she’s the last person anyone would suspect would do such a thing. But she may actually have the best motive of all, and an assistant D.A. with an election to win is determined prove she’s guilty…even if he’s wrong.
